Geoff has been a life long hunter and avid outdoorsman. While on tour through the Dakotas almost ten years ago he met two young brothers who had recently graduated from Dakota Wesleyan University and returned to work on the family farm. Coincidently, their meeting occurred during pheasant season. This fortuitous meeting turned into a day of shooting pheasants and the beginning of a great friendship. After many great seasons of hunting together the three friends began to lay the ground work for a hunting lodge that would welcome friends, old and new, to a place they loved and wanted to share. The Arhart family has built a highly respected operation that produces top quality beef and pork, as well as, growing corn, soybeans and wheat. From their deep personal faith in God and involvement in their local church, to their commitment to maintain the tradition of farming land that has remained in their family for over 100 years, Arhart farms is a true South Dakota success story. Their commitment to the land and its habitat has helped create a place where an enormous wild pheasant population has flourished and continues to grow. It is from these beginnings and dreams that Geoff, Andrew and Jonathan came together to open Dakota Fellowship Lodge.
